UNDERSTANDING QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
In order to successfully implement your system, you must first fully understand what is required.
This module introduces the relevant ISO standard, (ISO 9000 or ISO 17025, depending on your needs) and provides plain English interpretation of the requirements. You have the opportunity to discuss and reflect upon the requirements and what they mean for your organisation.
You will also receive training in the use of the Gap analysis tool, which is extremely useful in assessing exactly where your laboratory is in relation to the requirements.
Designed for: Quality coordinators, implementation team, and other key staff involved in the implementation and management of your quality system.
Learning Outcomes: Through practical group activities you will gain a thorough understanding of ISO 9000 and/or ISO 17025, and what you need to do to become compliant. You will also gain experience in the Gap analysis tool, which is used to analyse the current status of your system, and identify what needs to be done to become compliant.
Content: Clause by clause interpretation of the ISO standard, coupled with a "plain English" interpretation.
In the Gap analysis, the requirements of the ISO standard have been converted into a comprehensive questionnaire that you complete, referencing your own laboratory. This provides you with a clear picture of where the greatest gaps in your quality system are, and is the basis of the implementation plan.
